Like all doulas, Michelle MacLean is a birth junkie. Michelle has been a doula since 2005 and has no intention of quitting.
Michelle is the mother of two beautiful girls. After the birth of her first baby, Tuuli (now five), she became hooked on birth culture and babies. Anything related to pregnancy and birth Michelle wanted to read it, learn it, master it.
Michelle took the DONA course in 2005, and started her practice right away. Fate brought Michelle across two women that introduced her to “Birthing from Within”. Words were now able to describe Michelle's feelings and beliefs about pregnancy, birth and beyond. She completed two “Birthing from Within” courses and honours these teachings not only in her Doula practice but also her everyday life.
In late August 2007 Michelle gave birth once again.

Giving birth at home to a little lady named Xyla, completed her now family of four. Michelle has had the privilege to birth both in the hospital and at home, with a GP and with midwives.
Michelle is an open minded, open hearted doula. She believes that in empowering women and couples in educated choices and decisions, helps them in turn have a memorable birth.
"Being a doula is not going to make me a million bucks, but I get to love, nurture and empower women. I have the best job. Watching a family being born, what could be more fulfilling than that?"
Michelle is a Birth Doula and Doula Mentor trained with Birthing From Within. She is also a busy doula with the South Community Birth Program and is a member of the Doula Services Assosiation of BC.
Michelle is also the proud mother of two beautiful girls, Tuuli and Xyla.
